OSI-TCP
These
products are implementations of the
ISO Transport Protocol Class 0 on top of TCP according to
RFC-1006. They allow the OSI upper layers to run over TCP-IP based networks.
OSI-TCP is a driver level implementation whereas OSI-TMUX is a user-space implementation. Either products provides a Winsock interface for applications based on FTAM and CMIP to run seamlessly over TCP-IP networks.
OSI-TMUX stands for Transport Stack Multiplexor. It enables communication with any of the three Transport stacks namely
OSI-LAN, OSI-WAN and Microsoft TCP-IP at the same time.
An ISV can easily integrate their Upper Layers using this API and provide LAN, WAN and TCP-IP connectivity to OSI
applications simultaneously.
The products have been tested for suitability with Telecommunications environment. It has undergone extensive reliability, performance, and stress testing with Hewlett-Packard HP-OV product for
TMN.
Conformance
OSI-TCP / OSI-TMUX have been implemented in conformance with RFC-1006 standard.
Interoperability
Interoperability tests with a variety of systems were carried out as part of the quality assurance process. It interoperates with Sun/Solaris as well as HP/HP-UX implementations of RFC-1006.
Socket Primitives Supported
The OSI-TCP provides a standard Winsock interface.
The OSI-TMUX provides a Winsock-like interface. Each function call is prefixed with TMUX. This is because it is not a driver level component, but a user-space component.
Standards
OSI-TCP and OSI-TMUX supports the following protocols:
OSI Application developer
